Description

“The Lance of Zeus isn’t a Shen Gong Wu.” She twisted the artefact slowly in her hand before planting the end on the floor, tilting it so the moonlight split across the spear in a lazy arc. “It’s an old relic, forged before we became Masters. Dashi was always the best at pouring power into objects and weapons, he was the one who showed me how, and it was how I created the Cháng de Jáin blade a few years later.”
“Wu or not-“ that voice did so grate on her ears “-it’s still a powerful object, easily advancing the progress of
evil.” That smoking form twisted around her shoulders, the mask the only part of the spirit that seemed solid. Aeris’s eyes tracked the movement slowly, eventually lowering the spear as Wuya’s twisting form came to a steady hover. “Reminiscing on the good old days isn’t going to take over the world!”
“But reminiscing is something I do so very well.”
She lowered the spear and twisted it in her fingers, sliding it up through the sash on her waist so it was secured firmly to her back before turning back to the ghost, her hands on her hips. “Besides, I thought we both agreed that there is much to be said for tradition.”
“I said that about the old
ways,” the spirit rasped in reply, a sulk in her voice. “Not the old days.”
“But back then, everything we did ended in victory.” She walked past her, adjusting the gauntlet on her forearm as she did so. “Do you not remember? When the five of us stood together, nothing barred our way.”
“When the five of us stood together, I had legs.” Her voice had become grumpy now as the smoke that was now her body twisted through the air, following the woman of flesh and blood down the mountainside. “Legs and arms and everything I needed to turn my enemies into dust.” Her voice became a snarl. “And you remember how many enemies I had back then.”
Aeris’s next words were preluded with a sigh.
“Recall you didn’t just have enemies, but friends, too.” Her eyes flickered sideways. “I was once one of them.”
“Now we’re going into old territory I have no desire to remember.”
Her laugh was hardly pleasant, but it still travelled through the night air in a cold, otherworldly manner, just as it did when she called Wuya her friend, her ally. If there was one thing to be said about Aeris, it was that her laugh usually brought joy to those who heard it, but now…now it was cold, devoid of happiness. It was for show, nothing more.
“So.” She stepped over a rock and dropped down onto a lower ledge, looking back up at the ghost that curled above her. “I have the Spear, and I have the gauntlet. Next up is the circlet, then what? I highly doubt that absolute power is obtained by combining three trinkets.”
“Absolute power is obtained through years of practice and patience!” the spirit hissed as she levelled with her, making the woman stop walking. “Your millennia on the Xiaolin Side halted your advance, it stopped you from walking the path to your potential! You could claim the power with the practice, your skills have only excelled, but do you have to patience to take back everything the Xiaolin side has claimed from you?!”
Aeris watched her coolly, a tangible calm in the air that was prickling with the tension of Wuya’s last words. It was like a thick mist hovering over water, waiting for an ocean breeze to come blow it away, and it came in the form of a soft smile.
“…Old friend, I have held this form for the better half of two thousand years.” Aeris’s fingers gently rested on the gauntlet on her forearm, thumb stroking the surface almost lovingly. “Two thousand long, long years.” Her eyes flickered back up to her and the smile widened.
“…I have nothing
but patience.”

No, no, this is just me playing about. X3 I wanted a chance to design some new Heylin armour, but then it sort of turned into a picture, which sort of turned into another fake screenshot, only I relented and didn’t add any subtitles to this one. But I did write a snippet though, simply because I could. 0.0 Also, I haven’t draw Wuya yet, so I was pretty excited to try that, despite the fact it’s, um, pretty easy. Don’t know why I got so excited. Wuya will be showing up in Sightless Dragon some when, but not just yet. Need to get some dragony shit and Chase/Shadow shenanigans done first, and get Aeris back onto two legs. Also, I need some advice; naked or not? Because I don’t get how you can go dragon/human without packing some spare clothes or anything. XD I’m seriously contemplating it; don’t worry, I won’t be drawing her naked, not fully, and no one would see her naked, it’s just something I will probably be doing. I can do tasteful nudity, lots of leg/arm/collar shots. BUT LEMME KNOW I LOVE YOU ALL.
Either way, enjoy this little AU for the fun of it.
J I do like that armour, though…
